Lagos, Nigeria – The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board, Abdulrahman Lekki, has sadly passed away after a brief illness. His death was confirmed by the Lagos State Head of Service, who announced that Lekki died in the early hours of Wednesday, October 30, 2024.


In an official statement, the Head of Service expressed profound sorrow over the loss, stating, “With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announce the sudden demise of Mr. Abdulrahman Lekki, Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board, which occurred today, October 30, 2024, following a brief illness.” The statement noted that funeral arrangements would be shared at a later date, offering prayers for his soul's peaceful rest.


Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, also shared his condolences. In a post on the platform X, Wahab wrote, “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. We mourn the loss of a dear friend and brother, Abdulrahman Lekki, whose commitment to empowering young minds through education will be deeply missed.” He further described Lekki as “a pillar of support, a guiding light, and a friend to all who knew him, with a legacy that will continue in the lives he touched.”
